Day 1 — History and Landscape (Unhurried)
Morning: Roman Via del Capsacosta (from Sant Salvador de Bianya)
One of the star plans is to walk along the Roman road of Capsacosta, accessible from Sant Salvador de Bianya to the area of the Capsacosta pass. There are sections in very good condition and you can see construction elements such as walls and wheel guards, testimony to an engineering work of nearly 2,000 years ago.
Midday: lunch in the area
Have a leisurely lunch and take the opportunity to taste local cuisine (product and seasonal).
Afternoon: Romanesque of the Vall de Bianya
In the Vall de Bianya there is a group of Romanesque churches and hermitages spread over valleys and hills. It is a heritage that can be discovered calmly and that combines perfectly with an afternoon of walking.
Day 2 — Volcanic Garrotxa + local taste
Morning: short (and iconic) walk through the Fageda d’en Jordà
If you want a friendly plan, repeat “classic”: itinerary 2 (plain) and volcanic forest.
Midday: local gastronomy — el farro
The Vall de Bianya has its own gastronomic element: farro, closely linked to the tradition of mills and local heritage. The Farro Fair is held annually in Hostalnou de Bianya and is a perfect excuse to visit the municipality in winter.
Afternoon: fairs, markets or museums (depending on the weather)
If the day is inviting, make a cultural plan (museums of Olot) or a leisurely stroll.
