La Fageda d’en Jordà is one of the most iconic places in La Garrotxa. It is an exceptional beech forest because it grows at an altitude of about 550 m, on a plain and on a lava flow from the Croscat volcano, which creates the typical tossols (small mounds).
Why is it so special?
Because it is a forest that should not exist like this: beech trees on flat and volcanic terrain, with a soft and undulating relief that makes walking there hypnotic.
